Hello,
If I can't find the ccf for my Sony HT-DDW840 anywhere does this mean I have to learn all the codes? If so whats the best place to start. Thanks for your help, I'm a newbie and this forum seems to have all the answers.

A similar device's CCF may work for you. If not, then yes you will need to learn the codes. This is easy...just follow the directions in the user manual (download the appropriate manual from the Files section here if necessary). After you've learned the codes, be sure to upload your configuration and save it to your PC. You can then modify the layout all you want and not have to re-learn anything again.

If you want to try any of the other Sony files, you first need to change your receiver from AV2 to AV1 mode. But then your oem remote will no longer work with the receiver. You might be better off teaching your Pronto the codes, to change the receiver check here; [Link: remotecentral.com].
