or not responding". But when I click on details nothing is in the box. I know that it was working at one time. But now nothing.

Your post is not very clear but if you mean that you get this message when you try to downoad. The most likely explaination is that you did not 'wake up' the pronto before starting. by wake up I mean tap the screen or the light button.

It doesn't make any difference if I'm up or downloading. I did try with the remote "awake".

What PE are you using? Right now you should be using pe 4.05 which is the latest, and can be found on this website.
If you still have the set up program for pe 4.05, open it. Click on repair, which maybe a screen or two down the road. Once that is done, restart your pc.
Then try it again to down/upload.

You need to verify your com port. I had the same problem with a brand new PC. Static electricity is what took out my com port. Even though windows says the device is working properly, try an external modem or switch to com 2 if you have them. Lucky for me Dell replaced my motherboard. Always grond yourself before pluging in the serial cable to the pronto.
