I searched the threads, didn't find one relevant. Forgive me if I didn't search hard enough...

I programmed my first TSU6000 yesterday. After programming nearly 200 TSU1000s & 2000s, I thought no problem. Then I tried to shoot codes into it.

Apparently, codes can only be shot into an empty button. It appears to learn & beeps "OK" as if the learn was successful, but it doesn't work. Sure, you can download the CCF into ProntoEdit, remove the existing code and then shoot the new one in, but how tedious is that? A basic program that would have taken about 2 hours on a TSU2000 took over 4 hours.

Tech support at Philips says that this is correct, but I feel like I'm missing something. Can anyone confirm?

This is not correct, codes can be learned over any existing codes or even macros on a button. Can't say for sure why you're having learning problems, but IF you're attempting to learn while attached to the computer (i.e. through Pronto Edit) this can cause problems (unreliable codes). Try learning on the remote itself, test the results, and then upload to the computer.

Typical response. They are normally only a useful entity if you need to return the remote for warrantee service.

I have found that the simplest way to learn a lot of codes is to create a singel device and panel with many buttons, each labelled with the intended name of the code. Download this, learn the codes, then upload. I often do this in a separate CCF. After I have learnt all the codes I merge the small CCF into my main CCF. I find this much faster than trying to use other peoples CCFs to get codes.

Actually, I have also found that learning coeds on the 6000 is not a problem... but it does seem to take longer than with a 1000 for each code to be "OK"

I, too, have found that it is much better to have the remote disconnected from the PC, and then upload...have not had any problems with any button or macro this way.

Good luck...
