I just got a DS-1000 charging station and want to insert the battery pack. The battery tray seems very hard to remove and I don't want to break anything. (I know that the contacts can be rather fragile). The manual isn't much help. How do I remove the battery tray without harming the unit?

On edit: I should have mentioned that I have a Pronto TS1000.

The battery "Tray" is not removeable, however, if you mean the battery "Guide" (The peice of plastic with the recesses for the AA batteries)It is just held in w/ 2 tabs. Hold the remote upright and pull down and out from the topof the tray, it'll pop out with no damage.

I have seen these GLUED in place by clients in the past that did break the tabs. if yours hapens to be glued, hope they didnt use Superglue. You may have to pry a bit.

Actually, I was using the term in the DS-1000 manual... But, you're right, I did mean "the guide."

Mine's a refurb from Philips. Could it be glued? It sure seems difficult to budge. Gee, I hope it isn't...
