I put together a first panel for the Panasonic DMR-HS2 as shown here.

I sent the ccf to Remote Central for addition to the component configuration file. It should show up there any day now. The actual ccf panel has buttons that can be programmed. It also includes the IR codes for all the functions shown as well as the discrete On and Off codes. The On and Off buttons are not shown in this view but they have been added to the bottom Blue areas.

Also, three hard keys have been programmed for “fast forward”, “fast rewind” and “CMSKIP”.

I was going to offer to post the ccf zipped file on my "site" so you could download it.

But, if nobody cares I won't bother, and I won't offer any future efforts.

i don't care........too much effort to care, anybody else out there care?

don't put yourself out to bother with the effort of caring to post, if you don't care.

man........i'm tired, this posting business is tiresome work, particularly if you don't even really care to put out the effort......but i just did it out of the goodness of my heart.........just in case there really is somebody out there (however unlikely that may be) that really does care.

Igsnz, Email me and I'll send you the ccf. It's 45kb zipped, 292kb unzipped.. I don't know why it hasn't been added to the file section yet. I suppose Daniel Tonks is too busy right now.

It takes more than a little effort to put together the graphics for a panel like this and I got miffed because no one seemed to care or appreciate it. Then there are those like star50fiveoh who are just plain jerks.

Thanks for your interest.

I'm sure that was meant in the most complimentary fashion, so in light of that;

Well I for one always like to see new graphics. When it's posted, I'll definitely download and take a look.

On the other hand, I assume you created this for your own use. The additional effort to post the file doesn't seem like a huge effort. I'm sure anything that's graphically fresh and different will be favorably received - regardless of the equipment it's designed for.

It might be a tad over the top to expect a certain amount of attention to one's post, and, when it does not get received, "threaten" to refrain from posting future efforts.

In this case, it appears that someone wanted some appreciation and, having waited a day without it, slipped into a slight tantrum.

So many posts . . . so many voices in the wilderness . . .

What a tough crowd! This was my first post on this forum and I did expect more. There are now over a hundred “views”. Of all those views, only four people responded at all. And only one of them was positive in his comments.

bomberjim , you are right, of course, that I created this for my own use. And for you, maybe, the effort to post the original message and send the ccf file is not a huge effort. But it took me over an hour to do. I had to register, get a password, zip the file, send it, modify the graphics for use in the message, and write the message etc, etc.

I did this because people who have contributed to this forum, and especially to the files have helped me immensely and I wanted to return the favor.

A simple acknowledgement of the effort (even though not huge) by some of the 100 or so viewers is not too much to expect, is it?

I guess I just don’t understand forum etiquette. Oh well, live and learn.

Forums like this one would be greatly diminished if no one contributed useable knowledge, advise, tips, and files.

I just need to lower my expectations, I guess.

Point taken, I guess it is rather time consuming the first time.

Exactly, we may be a tough crowd occasionally, but the only reason we're here is to help the other guy out and share a little sense of community.

Wait till it shows up in the files area. Then look at the number of downloads. I'm sure it'll get well deserved attention.

Agreed, stick around. Additional perspectives and contributions are always welcome and appreciated - even though they're sometimes met with a sort of off-beat humor.

I love the look of that layout, I can't find it in the downloads section so if you could email it to me I would really appreciate it.

thanks
