Hi

I have an older and to this point very reliable RU890 (TS-1000) and ran into a perplexing problem the other day.

I uploaded the Pronto's .ccf into the edit program per usual and made the needed tweaks to a few screens and proceeded to download the new .ccf into the unit. So far no problems. Then I decided that some more tweaking was in order and proceeded to upload the .ccf, make the necessary changes and now I keep getting an error message that says:

"Error loading configuration into Pronto"

This happened "all of a sudden" and I've never run into this problem before with either this version or the older 1.5 release.

- Tried rebooting the PC... same result.
- Tried rebooting the Pronto... same result.
- Tried letting the Pronto sit overnight before attempting... same result.
- Tried swapping out the batteries for fresh ones... same result.
- Tried saving the configuration as a TS-1000 version... no luck.

I'm fresh out of ideas here gang. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help.

Jillel,

Try tapping the screen to wake up the remote just prior to initiating communications. Many times this little trick is necessary.

Just a thought, but you should really keep a copy of your current ccf stored on the computer. That way you don't have to upload to make changes. Also means you have a copy if the remote decides to take a dump.

Jillel,

Jim is correct. I was in the same situation. I needed to do some tweaks for new hardware. Been using the last setup for about a year w/ PE 2.0. I upgraded to 4.0.5 and now for some reason I must also tap the screen to wake it up before downloading into pronto. I tested again w/ PE 2.0 and no wake up was necessary with the older version. But - IT ALL WORKS NOW!! Just gotta slap it around to a little now.

Thanks 1,000,000 guys!! Worked like a charm! Performed the screen tap just before the d/l and viola!!

BTW, Jim. I ALWAYS keep a copy of my current .ccf on the PC... and an extra one on a CDR/W too (just in case of a major disaster!!). Remember that the problem I was having was getting the file BACK IN. The unit still functioned with the .ccf the way it was prior to uploading. I'm just a perfectionist and like so many others, my ,ccf's need to be "just so"...

Thanks again guys for the tip!!

Best Regards-

Jillel
