Hi

I just finished updating pronto TSU2000 CCF with the 4.0.5 PE. for some new gear. I now have sys 4.6, app 5.1. I now see that there is a sys 4.8, app 5.3.

As I always fear changing things that are working ok, can anyone tell me what they improved in the newer release? This thing has been working great!!! no crashes - solid code - no problems - for over a year now!!!

My only complaint is that my buttons for cable channel codes, It seems that I have to hold the button down for about 1 second for the code to send reliably. If I just tap the button, it seems that the code does not finish sending for the motorola cable box, (There are alot of delays in that code for the Mot. Box in order to send 3 digits)

Otherwise this thing has been a real treat to simplify Home theater!!!

Any Advice???

Can't help with what differences were in the later firmware. I do have a Motorola cable box however. I'm betting that it's a DCT 2000 or DCT 2224 they are most common. I don't need to do a press and hold for channel numbers, and my macro delays are .3 which work 100% reliable. You might try relearning a couple of digits to see if it works better. When you do, press and hold the OEM remote key until the Pronto says OK. Don't just tap it. You can also find plenty of ccf's in the files area with codes for these boxes.

Ronald, the new firmware was released last August, along with ProntoEdit 4 (can't remember which verison of PE 4). I'm surprised that you were not upgraded to that version when you did the update.

As far as we know, all that is in the new version, is some more entries in the codes database.

Ron,
just make sure you have a backup of the configuration on the remote. Occasionally, flashing the pronto with an update results in some problems. I have had to flash some remotes twice in succession, but I have lost the CCF in the remote and not been able to load it subsequently from my PC. No heartbreak, just load the default 2000 ccf and then load your customized CCF.

PS it may load without any problems.
