Hi there,

I need to generate a 'long' RC5 based IR code for my TV to switch into the two digit channel mode, e.g. press the 1 button for about 1 second and then e.g. the 5 button briefly to switch to channel 15.

The '1' button has the RC5 code:

5000 0073 0001 0000 0000 0001

How could I generate e.g. a 1 or 2 second duration of such a code?

Thanks in advance,

Alexander

code "C1" = RC5 0,1 (button "1"), toggle bit = 0:
0000 0073 0000 000D 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0CA0

code "C2" = RC5 0,2 (button "2"), toggle bit = 1:
0000 0073 0000 000C 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0040 0CC0

Try that:
[B] C2
[D] 0.5s
[B] C1
[B] C1
[B] C1
[B] C1
[B] C1
[B] C1
[B] C1
[B] C1
[B] C1
[B] C1

(C2 needed to be sure that previous received RC5 code has negative parity)

I am a bit confused regarding button "2" since I only neeed a long "1" (as an example) or maybe also a long "2" (for the 20+ channels)...?

RC5 is toggle signal, i.e. one button press casts IR signal with "toggle bit"=0, next press generates other signal - with 1, third button press produses toggle bit 0 again. IR receiver can ignore theese bits, but sometimes - not, i.e. IR receiver can ignore command with the same toggle bit! So if you will use macros of C1-C1-C1-... it can be ignored with fastidious IR receiver (but may not), so it depends of previous sended real RC5 command. FAQ will help you: [Why won't my buttons work twice in a row? (Working With Prontoedit: Learning & Infrared)], but C2 is not needed if IR receiver is more compliant...
