Hi there,
I haven't used my Pronto TS1000 for a long time...
Yesterday I reactivated it again with a set of new batteries and everything was running smoothly, including my custom IR high frequency codes for a home automation system IR receiver (Instabus or EIB-bus). Those codes start with a 0100 0009 in hex...
After the first successful tests I upgraded my ProntoEdit software from 1.01 to 4.0 (via 1.04) and also upgraded the firmware to the latest version. Just after doing the upgrade, everything worked fine, except for the high frequency codes... :-(
I don't want to rule out that maybe the IR receiver of my EIB-bus system broke at the same time, but it doesn't seem to ber very likely.
So I have the suspicion that the behaviour is related to the new firmware.
Are there any know issues with high frequency IR codes and the latest firmware releases?
I already tried to revert back to the old firmware, but the 'old' updater is checking for the current firmware release and won't allow the upgrade... :-(
Any ideas?
BTW, I will be trying to obtain an original IR remote to my IR receiver to verify if my IR receiver broke at the same time as I did the firmware upgrade... ;-)
Thanks in advance for any ideas and/or info,
Alexander

0100 0009 - is UNmodulated format, i.e. IR signal produced by this type code is not modulated yet (with any frequency). It is only use 455KHz to clocking when to turn LED on and off.
Anyway - TS1000 also supports up to 1.1MHz modulated signals for those artful Pioneer - as 0000 0004 codes (for replay, not to learn :)
There are no other posts about this firmware, and as for me, it looks like firmware is not successfully updated. Be sure, that batteries or accumulator is full charged when flashes your firmware.
If you want to revert to older firmware, try to use Tonto - it will ignore this circumstance.
Try to control another equipment from Pronto to detect Prontos IR fault, try to control EIB from obtained original remote to check its functionality...

Not exactly sure what firmware you upgraded to. The latest version is Sys v3.62 and App v4.85. You can find what you're using in the last page of setup. If you're using something earlier than this, you can get the latest firmware in PE 1.05 or PE 4.05. In any event, I agree with Eigeny about trying to flash the firmware again, or trying Tonto if you want to revert to an older version. Jim L

Hi again,
in the meatime I was able to downgrade my firmware to 1.3.9 (Sys V3.3, App V4.5) with ProntoEdit 4 and reloaded my original CCF file with ProntoEdit 1.01 (!) Guess what: my EIB-bus codes are working again!
So it really looks like I have a firmware issue with the high frequency codes... :-(
BTW, here are two of my now working (again) codes as an example:
0100 0009 0000 000d 0008 08fc 0008 0d7a 0008 0d7a 0008 0d7a 0008 08fc 0008 0d7a 0008 0d7a 0008 0d7a 0008 0d7a 0008 0d7a 0008 08fc 0008 08fc 0008 5aa0
or another one (different IR channel):
0100 0009 0000 000d 0008 08fc 0008 0d7a 0008 0d7a 0008 0d7a 0008 08fc 0008 0d7a 0008 0d7a 0008 0d7a 0008 0d7a 0008 0d7a 0008 08fc 0008 0d7a 0008 5622
Any ideas why those codes didn't work in the recent firmware versions?
All the firmware upgrades were w/o any problems and all the other codes (e.g. TV) worked like a charm.
Thanks in advance and greetings,
Alexander

Really don't know why, glad it's working now. You still aren't using either the latest version of PE, version 4.05. Perhaps you should leave the firmware alone since it's working now. Jim L

:) Firmware updating is like BIOS updating - you need no do it, while device works fine :)

...that's normally true, but sometimes one like to use new features in the new firmware: e.g. timers! ;-)
BTW, I already got some feedback from Pronto techsupport, but their suggestions didn't help (CCF conversion between TS1000 and TSU2000 format and back again with ProntoEdit 4.0.5) so far. As soon as I am 'leaving' firmware 1.3.9 my HF codes stop working with the IR receiver. :-(

I'm not really sure from the posts, what firmware version you updated to that didn't work. If you really want the latest firmware, I'd go to the files area and download PE 1.05 which contains the latest firmware for a 1000. Available here: [Link: remotecentral.com]. I seem to remember reading that some users had problems updating the firmware to a 1000 using PE 4.05. Since you already know you can go back, it shouldn't be much of a risk. The latest firmware added learning support for B&O codes which are high frequency. I would therefore think that this version would be the "best" for your situation. Jim L

The firmware update for a 1000 works fine in 4.05. I think the problem was in 4.03 only.
One thing that puzzles me is that I thought the support for high frequency was fixed/improved in the latest firmware.
