I am still waiting on my ts-1000 to come in but I was trying to work on the layout....Is the only way to get the IR codes is to program from each of my remotes.

No, you can copy and paste codes from another ccf, codes posted in the discrete codes section of the files area, or even a forum post.

You need to have developer mode enabled. The easiest way to do this is to use Daniels Pronto.ini Workshop, available here: [Link: remotecentral.com]. Start the program, select your remote and software. The rest is self-explanatory. Go ahead and enable the additional fonts as well.

To actually paste a code a code must already be present. If there isn't one, choose set IR and then advanced and then select any RC code. Click OK then double click the code on the action list. Choose view IR, highlight the old code and paste the one you want over the top.

Jim, you obviously haven't been using Version 4.05 of ProntoEdit.

You no longer need to set developer mode to paste hex codes.

You no longer need to create a dummy code to paste hex codes.

Keia71, what Jim is talking about is copying the internal format of an IR code around. For what you want to do that is unnecessary. You can simply use devices, panels, buttons from other CCFs which contain the codes you want. The easiest way to do this is to take a CCF you like, delete what you don't want, and merge that CCF into your CCF.

The other CSF's have to have the same device in order to use their codes. Is that correct? Otherwise do I replace them with my codes from my remotes?

Peter,

Yep, you're right. I use Touch Screen Setup and Tonto. How about the additional fonts, do they still need to be enabled?

I think you still need to enable the fonts.

Keia, you can merge anything you like from other CCFs. Then change them anyway you wany - including changing the IR Codes.
