Forgive me if the answer lies here on the site and I'm just not finding it, but I'm interested in creating some graphics like buttons and logos for my 5200. Is there a place to get a document on how to do that using Photoshop or a similar program, basically a "Getting Started" or "Step by Step" document? I'm not just sure exactly what resolution, format (grayscale, RGB etc..), and size to make them, then how to import them into Touch Screen Setup or a similar program to use in the ccf file. I'm not clear on that process. Any help or direction would be apprecaited. Thanks!

There are tons of threads that contain the info you seek, and there are tutorials and faqs. Do you know how to use the search funciton on the forum? That would be a great place to start, since if you are going to participate here, you will want to be able to search through the hundreds of thousands of messages to find info that you are looking for. In the mean time, you might want to check out "Mike's Help Bar" on this thread [Link: remotecentral.com]\'s|help|bar HTH-Carl

There is a very good document on generating color graphics in the Features section (written by Daniel). Much of the info equally applies to B&W graphics.

Thanks for the info. No I haven't been able to figure out the search functionality on the site. Every time I try it seems to return 0 documents. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks for the lead.

Ok. Makes sense. Didn't look closely enough at the entire screen. Thanks!
I still have a more specific question..how do you set a program like Photoshop to the correct 4 colors of gray for the creation of .bmp's? I see that many bmp collections here on the site state the graphics are in the 4 correct shades of gray. How do I know those 4 shades and setup a program like Photoshop to use them in the final output? Is there a palette file available for download?

Lars,
I can't tell you what Photoshop requires but I use PaintShop (PSP) and have both the 256 and 4 color palette files available. I seem to recall a message discussing Photoshop and Palettes. Try a search on "Photoshop" and "Palette".
Shoot me an email if you the PSP palettes. I'm not sure if the Paintshop .PAL files are compatible with Photoshop.
Daniel, do you have a different answer?

The 4 shades are very easy to calculate: just divide 0 to 255 by 3 and you get
(0,0,0), (85,85,85), (170,170,170), (255,255,255)

Lydnel,
I assume the 4 colors Peter stated are the correct ones. Wouldn't have thought of that method of finding them. Haven't tried them in my creation of a bmp yet. However, I did save them as a "Microsoft Palette .pal" file in photoshop and am figuring they will work. I'll post my findings on this thread. Thanks Peter for that idea.
