System details:
TV: Wharfedale CTV850
DVD: Proline DVD1000 (Wharfedale 750 under Comet's own logo)
Amp: Yamaha RX-V396RDS
VCR: Proline VN2200

Queries:
1. I need discrete codes for all the above. I can't find *anything* on the TV or the VCR, and there's very little on the other two. Any ideas?

2. Where does one find discrete codes? Do the manufacturers supply them? Experimentation? (would seem a slow way about it...) ?

3. Amp specific question: is there a discrete code to select "LD/DVD Auto", as the code I have toggles between that and "LD/DVD Analog", which can actually switch the sound OFF if the amp's in the wrong state to start with.

Learned a lot already from this site, thanks in advance for any help...

1/ Search the files section for similar models. They usually use the same codes.

2/ If they are not posted here, then experimentation. Remember, there is a good chance that they do not exist.
