Hi, I'm a newbie in this field. Just bought two RC3200s and I am now playing around. A few questions:

1. IRcodes
Can anybody explain to me in normal language how these IR codes work. I see a number of pairs of 4 numbers/letters (hexa?). I opened a few example files made by some of you and I noticed that there are alot of codes out there that do exactly the same. For instance turning on my Marantz receiver: the RC3200 had a code built in. I found a few made by members of this forum. I learned it from the remote I already had. All work fine, they are however completely different. Some are very short and some are very long. I can't find to see any logic. Does somebody know?

2. B&O is not working
One of the remotes I try to get in is my B&O. I specially bought this RC3200 since it had the high frequency learning. Learning from my B&O remote towards the RC3200 goes bad or not at all. Is there a trick that somebody knows out there that works?

3. Picking B&O codes from this forum
I saw a number of CCF (so pronto) files for B&O equipment. What I did was download the Pronto software and have a look at this CCF files. I then copied the IRcodes into the Marantz Setup software, so into the NCF file. No real result, only 1% or so of the buttons are working. Is this stupid? Are these IRCodes different. Is it impossible to "take" them from a CCF and "put" them into a NCF? Is there some conversion needed or so? Any help/input/ideas are welcome.

Thanks & sorry for the long posting

Any help, how short is very much appreciated.

Sorry, this is a double posting (from the RC3200 forum), but I thought someone at this side of the forum might also have answers...

What I forgot on number 3: the learning goes well (it says "ok"). But when back in Use-mode it just is not working.

Just the TV (MX4000) and the light control. I try to learn it from the standard (relatively new) B&O remote BEO4.

1. You need to learn how to learn IR. Hit button "learn", next (after a second) press-and-hold button on your remote, and after that all learned codes must looking the same.
2. B&O need a carefull learning. It is better do from computer and TSU2000 or RU940 or RC5000i. You need to obtain short IR code started from 7000.
3. It is a question about CCF and NCF IR code compartibility. I have not found any confirmation that ProntoNEO (NCF) supports this codes (except internal database UDB)

I now found all the B&O codes in Pronto's HEX IR format. I need it however in the ProntoNeo's IR code format.

I tried the Pronto2Neo Converter but it is not correctly translating the B&O code. I also tried Neohacker but that one also does not work.

Does anybody know / understands what the conversion of a Pronto's HEX IR format into ProntoNeo's IR code format actually is about???

If the codes start with 7000, I would not be surprised if Pronto2Neo does not know what to do with these.

Peter,

No they just begin with 0000. I included three random examples below for which I just know they are 100% working on the pronto so the Pronto's HEX code has to be correct. I just need them in the ProntoNeo IR code format (in my case RC3200). Desperate....
