Love the Pronto, but this is driving me up the wall.
The 'mute' & volume '+' & '-' hard keys won't 'remember' what I have programmed them to do.
I have learned my amp's IR to these and also tried downloading somebody else's ccf for these keys yet they will not work when it comes to using them.
The problem goes away temporarily if I reinstall the firmware and start from scratch with the original ccf and then reinstall my own ccf, but after a short while they stop functioning again, and it is always the same buttons.
I have learned the codes to the system properties (making sure the device properties are clear) and also tried learning the codes to all devices in exactly the same way, but to no avail.
I don't know if this could be a 'corrupt' ccf or what. Also one or two keys on the screen itself are a pain to use and need several presses to get them to work.

Any ideas would be fab!

don't know if it is a corrupt CCF, the best bet is to try a different CCF. But from what you said I would think you just got a bad remote

Thanks Anthony...
I don't think it's a hardware problem because I've just tried aliasing the descrete volume controls of my cable STB instead of the amp and they work fine.
Not ideal for me because i'd like to control the volume levels for other things apart from the TV.
It must be the IR codes for the Amp not being 'strong' or whatever, whether they are learned directly from the remote or from someone's ccf. Funny really because they have worked previously.
Do you reckon copying the IR 'number' codes directly from someone else's ccf would work?

you could try relearning them, but from what I understood, that at first they work well, and latter they don't work at all, that should not be a problem.

Are you at the current firmware version?

This has happened before. Sometimes fixed by updating to more recent firmware or by relearning the codes.

Have you tried aliasing to the volume controls for the amp rather than storing them directly in system properties.

Thanks guys,

I have the latest firmware version, and have tried reinstalling it several times and then reloading the ccf. This sometimes works, but not always, and again after a period of say a few hours, the IR codes don't work.
I have also tried aliasing to the amp volume controls with similar results. Also, I've tried aliasing the hard keys to each device, which again worked, but then didn't after a short time. I don't particularly want to relearn codes every day though!

Never mind. I'll have another fiddle and see what I can do with other people ccf's.

Thanks

Me again,

Just tried downloading another ccf for the amp (Denon 3802) and the codes for that seem to work so far!!!

Very odd.

Just a thought...

Check the battery. Make sure it's seated properly and freshly charged.

If you are learning codes, try to do so with a fresh battery. If you're downloading CCFs, fresh battery rule applies as well.

I've had problems before when learning/testing codes and I had a battery that was "running on empty". I supsect something about the timing on low battery.

Don't know if anyone else has ever experienced this problem but I sometimes encountered this with my older RC5000i.

Checked battery and you're right, it was giving me low battery warning.
But perhaps that was not the reason anyway because it all works fine now having loaded someone's ccf and aliased to their buttons.

Thanks anyhow for your suggestions.
