Ok, so I'm up way too late creating a large file, made mostly from other files(lots of buttons, icon, and such) So I can have most of the parts I need in one file. I downloaded the utility that allows me to save oversized files, which it did, but now when I try to open it, I get the old "file is not a valid RC device configuration". So my question is, can I open it somehow, so I can finish working on it, or did I work all night on it for nothing? Oh yeah, I am planning on downsizing it to fit the remote, if I can recover it.

Will I be able to edit with Pronto 4.0, or will I be stuck using tonto? Is Tonto a better editing software?

You can use either software.

Some people think that Tonto is better, but other's doesn't have an opioin. As well as some think that protnoedit is better.

Where can I find it? I looked around the files area, but I didn't see it. I did see a file that looks as though it will allow you to work with two files at the same time, say to pull icon, panels, etc. from one configuration to another, without merging them. Any one use this file with success, or am I reading it wrong. And thanks for the help, Rob!

Sorry I thought it was in the file section. At least at one point in time it was. Like months ago. Or at elast I thought it was.

However, the link is in the faq's Or just click here. [Link: giantlaser.com]

Look here: [Link: giantlaser.com]. Download v1.41 for your operating system. I'm one of the "it's better" crowd.

Just 1 sec separates our posts - could mean you're a better typist.

I have the same problem - my CCF was too big and now ProntoEdit tells me that my CCF "File is not a valid RC device configuration." I tried opening it with Tonto. Tonto does not complain, but the file it opens is empty. Got any other ideas?

I had the same result. So I just started over again, making sure to save the cofiguration as I went, so I wouldn't have to start from scratch if I did it again.

Hi, did you try CFF Tools with that file ? Make a copy of the ccf and decompile and compile it, or just use optimizer, or both in different order.

If you have the 1mb Pronto, try loading it in PE with 2mb option selected when loading ?!

Hope it helps.

Can you please email me the CCF that opens empty in Tonto (I'm presuming it's not actually empty and this is a Tonto bug). Thanks!

Older versions of ProntoEdit had bug that resulted in a zero length file when the Too Big message appeared.

You should be using ProntoEdit 4.05 or Tonto, not any older versions.
