Is there a way to alter, in any way, the look/function of the top 20% of the Pronto screen?? Specifically, I would like the HOME key to jump to one home panel when pressed from one device, and jump to another home panel when pressed from a different device. Is that even possible??

yes, on the Pronto remotes you can change the home icon (but not all), there is also a utility that lets you change any icon by replacing them in the firmware (never tried it)

No

Not as is, when you press the home button it brings you to the last home panel that was accessed. So if you use HP1 to jump to D1 and HP2 to get to D2 then pressing the home panel should give you what you want, but that is if you cannot go from D1 to D2 without going home first
