I just tried a file. With no problem, took about a second or so. With a 56k. Don't remember how big the file was either.

Acually I am experiencing a similar problem... I have been working on this CCF for some time now... and all of a sudden I get the "device is not a valid RC config" message when I try to upload from the pro to my laptop. Any advice?

I've experienced this problem occasionally with my 9200. Turned out there was a ccf problem, of course I was using Touch Screen Setup. You might try using Tonto, it's much less sensitive to communications problems. No need to tap the screen prior to upload/download either.

OK I have never heard of TONTO, is this a different form of software? Can I merge my CCF file into this program without having to reprogram the unit?

Well 12 hours before I posted that message. I had one long island, and a snake bite(shot) but not in a shot glass. In a rock glass. In which case the bar tender put more Yukon than lime juice. Even for what he put it in. So I really had 12 shots in 20 minutes. The six in the Long Island, and the 6 or so with the snakebite.

The day before, had the same thing, but some place else. I am a regular at both bars. So they know me :-)

Tonto is an alternative program to ProntoEdit.

Some people find that they cannot upload from Pronto to ProntoEdit when their CCFs get large, but have no problems downloading. Can happen on older computers.

I would try Tonto first.

Otherwise, the only reason you should ever be uploading is after learning codes. You could always learn codes into a tiny CCF, upload it, then merge into your main CCF.

Tonto is just a 3rd party replacement for the software - use Anthony's link to download. No need to merge, just open the ccf like you would do in Pronto Edit.

Hey yall,

So I took a bit of advice here regarding my invalid RC device problem that I referred to earlier. Thanks to PETER DEWILDT I tried using my much newer IBM laptop instead of the pre-cambrian flintstone-eque Toshiba laptop and everything seems to have worked just fine. My client is happy, and now I have to go back to gluing my hair back onto my head.

thank you Peter!
