I've gotten discretes to work on Mits VCRs before but this one does not respond. It will toggle on/off with standard power commands. Is there anything unusual about this model?
Thanks!

How old is it?
Have you tried the always forgotten work-a-round, play, stop (on), play, stop, power (off)? This should work and has been repeated a thousand times.
If that doesn't work active A/V network will work.

HSU65? I think it is around a 1993-95 or so model. Play doesn't start the machine from the off state. Can you elaborate on the active a/v network, please?
