Hello

I was curious, I have a 3 year old TSU1000 that has been a work in progress for 3 years, for some reason I just can't stop buying equipment ;)

Anyway lately my pronto has been crashing. As recently as the past 6 months I have gotten use to it crashing approximately 3-5 minutes after I update my CCF.

Now it is crashing on a greater regularity (sp?) it crashed and reset last night 4 or 5 times.

Well my question is:

I realize I can completly reset the Pronto by utilizing the reset button on the back, but what about checking my CCF to see if it might have a bug or two (if that is possible - which I would imagine is)

Thanks for the help.

TS1000 (the U is for the TSU2000 and above, and indicates the inclusion of the Universal Database).

You need to Download & Install ProntoEdit V4.0.5 to your PC and then Reflash your Firmware via the Serial Connection Cable.

Using the Reset Button will not erase your CCF. You can also try taking out the batteries for over 8 hours, this may help. But your best bet is to Reflash your Firmware.

Is this a Custom CCF that hasn't been tweaked in over 3 years? Or is it the Default CCF? Not that it really makes any difference . . . just curious.

Click on the links in the box below, in particular you will find : the FAQ, Reviews, Play With It, Phases, Planning and ALIAS.CCF helpful when just starting out.

And remember when you ask questions to be specific in your Heading and very specific in your question, including precisely what your problem/question is and what model Remote you have and what OS you are using on your PC.

Also, don't forget the Search Forum at the bottom of the Page. It may seem slow but it is VERY thourough and don't be mislead by the "0%" you will see on the first screen, it is only a progress marker.

Have you made any changes to your CCF that might explain it.

Do the reboots happen when you press a particular button?

1. ProntoEdit V4.0.5 and firmware installed when they first became available.

2. my ccf is a copy of my first custom ccf, everytime I edit I create/save a different ccf so I have backups, this latest is probably my 15th or so.

3. my changes to my ccf are pretty minor really, because my equipment has changed but nothing has changed as far as codes, in other words I upgraded my Toshiba 32" to a 57" etc.
I have also just moved around an icon or two, but nothing major in it iteration

4. if I download the ccf from PE 4.0.5 and just wait say 3 minutes it reboots and works just fine. just recently has it been rebooting periodically during usage at night when I am home.

Have you looked at the batteries? I think I have heard of rebooting when the batteries are low or there is a bad connection.

firmware has not changed since 1.05 did the problems start when you updated the firmware with 4.x or did they exist before? maybe there is a problem with the FW in 4.x (don't know, never tried it)

I am using the rechargeable battery/docking station (original unit) and come to think of it, this rebooting never occured before the most recent firmware update.

There really isn't a great concern about this, it is just annoying. Overall, My Pronto and its high mileage is running great.

You can always try cleaning the contacts between the battery and remote
