Hey all.

Okay, so I'm a geek. Some things you just have to accept in life.

I have had a Pronto and an RC5200. I am eagerly awaiting the TSU3000...

However, every now and then I see some cool technology I just want to have right away... Surround sound was the first example of this, and Tivo was a more recent example...

Now, onto NEW stuff...

Windows XP Media Center Edition.

My buddy has one of these, and it's cool. It will be even cooler when they fix it.
Ultimately, you will be able to use this as a tivo-like device, a cd-jukebox, photo album, and home-video center.
You will also be able to watch the video's on this machine from other machines in the house. Oh, and you will be able to dump those video's onto DVD so you can take them with you. Cool.

Windows Smart Displays (Mira)

These are tablet PC's with built in wifi.
They can use Remote Desktop Connection (Terminal Server) to connect to your other desktops. Also, they will be able to connect to a Media Center PC and play video's.
This means that we will have portable tablet PC's we can watch movies on; not to mention browsing the web, etc.
Cool.

Now when this stuff comes out, I will have only two problems.

1. How do I convince the fiancee that we need two touch-screen devices on the coffee table.

2. Am I going to have to run a power outlet to the coffee table to power all these devices..

Oh well.

Technology is a wonderful thing.
