I've narrowed it down to the TS-1000 or the NEO. I can find either for about $120 on eBay, I'm wondering which I should get. It seems like there's a lot more custom screens for the 1000 out there, and I'll definitely be downloading those.

What does everyone think?

Tough choice, I like the Pronto over the NEO, but the 1000 was replaced by the 2000 that will soon be replaced by the 3000. The 1000 has not been made in almost 2 years, so it cannot be a new remote and except if it is a factory refurbished then there is no chance that there will be a warranty. On the other hand, from what I have read in the NEO forum, it does tend to be a bit more problematic

The larger screen of the 1000 allows for more flexibility, but the hard menu control of the Neo is nice as well. The upcoming 3000 has lots of hardware buttons and other nice features, but it will be out of that price range.

From what I've read, the Neo editing software doesn't seem to allow as much control as ProntoEdit - in particular, you have to use a "hack" program to have a custom home page.

I would caution against buying a Neo on ebay - since the Neo forum has lots of people complaining about difficulties learning from particular devices. It'd be good to be able to return it if you have problems with it.

Beyond those issues, both are generally good remotes and the choice between them is a matter of taste.

I was looking at the same choices and ended up with the ts1000. Primarily because of the size of the touch screen. But I will tell you that I am having a bit of a time adapting to the touch screen versus hard buttons. if you are a hard button person, or your significant other is, the touch screen may not get used alot.
