I have noticed some very nice graphics work on many of the files...particurally Daniel's and Dale's files. Is there a preferred image development/editing application that is preffered or will anything work.

I know that I can use MS Paint...but it seems kind of crude to be getting the results that some of the folks are getting out there. Obviously there is a lot of talent, but I think I could do a lot better if I was working with the right tools.

Thanks

Mike

Most of those graphics start off as "vector" artwork (done in CorelDRAW in my case, I believe Dale uses AI), which are then converted to bitmap. For tips on how to obtain the highest quality images, see the section under FEATURES.

Mike:

I have used several programs over the years. Like Daniel, I used to be a huge fan of CorelDraw, which I then converted to BMP.

These days, I use Macromedia Fireworks exclusively. It's the only vector-oriented program I know of that is specifically designed to create screen images instead of print-outs. Also, if you set it up correctly, Fireworks lets you easily see the end-result, dithered in the ProntoPro palette, before you export to BMP format. That feature alone saves me days of work on every new CCF design.

Thanks both of you. I am making much progress on my Pro and am looking forward to posting my work on this site. The last version of CorelDraw I had was ver 6. I have been working with JASC Paint Shop Pro 7.0 it was cheap and so far seems to be doing the job. The only thing it doesn't have is the large graphics library that came with corel. I think I will go back and re-load Corel if it is Windows XP compatible. Which I am guessing its not.

Try installing it in Compatibility Mode on XP for whichever system it worked on before i.e. Windows 95, 98, ME or whatever.
