Is there a method to do this reliably; I have tried covering the sending remote for a second at the beginning of the learning process. I would download the CCF files, but I am currently unable to get Tonto to do this on my Mac.

Thanks,
Ken

Isn't this a killer?

I think that you have to hit the remote once to wake it up before it will emit a code, then, within a few seconds, one button push (or holding down a button) will give you a learnable code.

Before I found this out, I was trying to teach a TS1000 that actually kept resetting for some reason. If I had not awakened the remote (or the receiver?) and tried to learn a command, a fourth of the time the remote would beep, shut down and reboot. Very scary when the progrma is 7/8 done!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I have never seen a remote like this.....

like Daniel said (the remote that send's a string of garbage before sending a command)

I have generated codes from NAD tell me what you need

My problem is that I can't get Tonto to download to my remote. I am stuck using just the remote.

Now I can get them to download with Tonto. I used the codes for the NAD 750, but I changed them to RF at the remote. they are not working as RF, do I need to change them in Tonto instead?

Thanks

You need to make sure the RF channel ID is set under system properties and the RF extender code is set under each RF device.
