My customer just wants to program her VCR to record a couple things while away. I thought I'd buy a simple VCR with cable mouse or cable box window that actuates the sat receiver and change its channel instead of the VCR. Surprise, couldn't find one!

1. Is there still a VCR with cable mouse available?

2. If not, can her CHAD (Pronto) do it EASILY? It needs to be as simple as the VCR onscreen menu to her. I've thought of VCR programming set to channel 3 and setting timed macros to change the sat receiver at the appropriate time, but the two-step process is going to bug her.

Thanks!
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

A) Is she that blonde?

the two-step process is going to bug her.

B) Is she that rich?

If it's A or B . . . what about VCR+?

If it's A and B . . . Have her eMail me and I'll do it FOR her, while she's away. Price commensurate with age/good-lookin'ness/wealth!!!

Does the sat receiver have its own timer? Where it turns it self on,and changes its own channel? If it at least does that, check out JVC vcr's with REC-LINK. With the satellite set,and off. You put a tape in, hit the REC-LINK button the vcr goes off. When a signal hits the back input jacks of the vcr, it will come on and record. When the sat goes off, the vcr goes off too. As long as no one messes with it, and theres plenty of room on the tape, no problems.

Timers in the Pronto are not hard, but it does mean that she will either need to program them on the PC and download or she will need to be able to get into edit mode
