not real sure what you are asking.

If you mean download to the remote, then you can only download two things
1) firmware
2) CCF
the firmware is equivalent to the OS, a CCF is a configuration file, it tells your remote how to look and act.

The firmware comes from Marantz and new firmware would contain bug fixes or added capabilities and usually is part of a new version of the editing software.

The CCF comes from you and is your creation. It defines your remote

if you mean from this site
there are many CCFs uploaded by users, so you can use them to get ideas or functionality (you like someone's buttons, they have your device...) and some just fun (like the games section). There are also utilities that are there to automate tasks (super nudelist for megachangers, Prontoutil.....)

if you mean to ask what can it do? that is a harder question, because you can make any button look like anything you want, it should also be able to control any IR controllable device (even toys, air conditioners......)

What remote are you talking about?

Marantz 5200?
yes, all the pronto remotes are compatible. each one has its own features and you might loose some stuff (if it is a P1 CCF with timers you will loose them, if it is a P2 CCF and the user used UDB codes you will loose them, if it is an M9 then the icons will be changed to B&W)

original remote
most manufacturers use the same code set from one model to the next, so the answer is probably yes

BTW. the remote can only contain one CCF at a time, and you can merge CCFs in PE
