I've had my Pronto for about 16 mths and I've always been able to upload from my work computer but not from my home computer. Totally revamping my CCF at this point, and not being able to upload at home is hurting my development time.

I've tried both ProntoEdit 4 and Tonto 1.39, both of which work in the office. On both machines I'm running Windows 2000, and I don't have PDA or other serial device on either computer. I'm using Com1 on both machines, and on both, Windows says the port is working properly. I make sure I wake up the remote before I try uploading. Last night I even upgraded the home machine to Service Pack 3 (which is the only real difference I could find between the setups of two machines). I still get an upload error about 16-22 percent of the way through with Tonto, sooner with PE4. Any suggestions on what else I could try?

The fact that you can get part way through means that you are communicating. So the problem is elsewhere.

Is your home machine older? Like 4 years. If it has an older serial port, then it cannot support the speed that the Pronto expects.

John,
You said that you upgraded your pc at home to service pack 3. What you should do now, is reinstall, or repair PE 4.05 Since you've done something to the pc as far as the OS goes. It might of effected PE, or at least the com port. Either way, it won't hurt to try. The wrose that can happen is that it don't work, oh wait it already doesn't. :-)

John,

In Tonto crank up the Preferences->Debug->Comm setting to 3, run the upload or download then send me the debug log with Help->Email Logfile.

My home computer is a bit dated, 3 years old, so maybe that's the problem. Thanks for the other suggestions, I'll try them tonight. Either way the work computer's coming home for the weekend. Inspiration struck last night on a better way to setup my NFL Sunday Ticket controls, and I'm dying to test it this weekend.

Along those lines, a second (and unrelated) question for the gurus. I currently have the full season's NFL Sunday Ticket schedule loaded into my Pronto. Used SuperNudelist to upload channel and schedule so for each week I have buttons for "TB at PHI 4PM", etc. Is there a way I can have the remote know which week it is so that I can display the appropriate schedule for Week 1, 2, 3, etc? Or am I stuck with that one extra button push to specify the week (perhaps I'm just getting too greedy)?

With your remote, no. However, with the new tsu-3000 it is possible. It's not for sure because no one has it yet to test it out. But it's mentioned somewhere that there is a calender like thing on it. So maybe it could.
