I tried to set up timers on my pronto 940 and corrupted it. It then asked me to revert to original settings so I have lost my CCF. When trying to download it from my PC I encounter the following problems:

1. When opening Prontoedit I get a message that macro.ccf is not supported.

2. When I load my CCF and run the emulator I get a message that my CCF is corrupted.

3. When I try to download my CCF to Pronto the com port 1 is opened but Prontoedit can't communicate with the Pronto.

4. I've tried opening an old version of my CCF which does run on the emulator but I can't download this either because of the communication problem.

5.When I try to do Pronto updates I get the same communication problem.

6. I've read through the FAQ and tried new batteries in the Pronto, checked cable connections and reset the Pronto several times but still no luck.

What do I do? I really don't want to have to redo my whole CCF.

What PE do you have? Hopefully you have the latest which is PE 4.05
If not, download it from this site in the files section. Once you've download it. Uninstall the old PE so that the new PE won't clash with it.

If you do, and if you still have the set up program. Run it, click on repair. It will then repair all of PE that needs it or whatever.

Just to add a very little bit to the good advice Rob gave you. If you do reinstall Pronto Edit, make sure you reboot the computer after the new install. When trying to download to the remote, wake it up first. Just tap the screen or push the backlight button.

You might also want to try Tonto. The communications are much improved over any of the Philips software. It's available here: [Link: giantlaser.com].

macro.ccf is part of ProntoEdit and is in the installation directory. You may have accidentally changed it. Follow Rob's advice and uninstall and install 4.05.

Problem resolved. I actually had my palm and pronto plugged in the wrong way around. I've taken the opportunity to udate firmware and load 4.0.5. However this has resulted in a new problem - see new post.
