I have installed tonto (latest) on a winxp PC machine with PE 4.0.5 using a keyspan USB to serial converter. Works perfect on PE on comm 2 (I have a device attached in comm 1 - serial). But tonto is unable to find the remote (TS1000). I love all the Mac friendly (should be on PE) things that tonto has (I am a MAC addict frustraded because of the slow performance of Virtual PC), but would like to have PE installed just in case. Is there a way to to this? have the two programs finding the remote?
Willy.

The programs are totally independent of each other. So both can be used on the same machine. Though, it is somewhat of a surprise that PE finds the remote but not Tonto!!

Willy,

This surprises me as well. Are you sure some other program (like PE) is not holding the port open before Tonto is started? You can help me debug this by setting the comm debug level to 3 (under Preferences->Debug), running 'Remote->Locate Remote' then running 'Help->Email Logfile'. That should send me enough information to know what's going on.

thanks

Thanks!
I sent the logfile... It didn't find the remote... I started tonto before anything else and it didn't work. PE found it (I uploaded from the RC).

Willy,

I didn't get the log for some reason. Can you zip up the contents of the $HOME/tonto/logs directory and email it to me directly?

thanks

Stewart,
I sent the mail with the "logs" directory in zip format. You can email me with any help...
Willy.
