I tried reading the FAQ and used Search to see if I could find a solution but was unable to find one. Can anyone tell me if there is a simple way to get the built in list of Brands to display again? I have a PP 6000. I was doing a first time startup AFTER installing firmware 1.4 via PE 4.05 and when it prompted me with, "Philips RC codes are installed in this device. Do you want to change it?" I THINK I selected "No" by accident. Now, when I select a device (i.e TV), go into BRAND mode it says, "Select device to change its brand". I tap TV and get;
"TV does not contain brand information. Do you want to select another device?". I get the same for all devices.
I greatly appreciate any help and thank you in advance.

Jim

Sounds to me like you need to REVERT to the original default.ccf

Before doing that.

The ccf that you have in the remote, is it your's?
If so, then the codes that you have in your tv device. How are they being used? When you went to program them. Did you go to set ir in PE? Then to program them, did you LEARN them, or used the built in data base?
If you learned all of the buttons on the tv device in the learned mode. Then that means that the built in data base will not work. Since there is no "pointer" information for the remote to regconize what that "device" is.

Does this happen to all of your devices?

Thanks for the quick responses guys. Actually, I did have a custom .ccf file installed that I downloaded from here at RC a while back, and programed a good number of buttons via LEARN from my various remotes as well as some editing via PE.
I haven't used the PP in for a while, and just decided to get back to it tonight, starting with updating the firmwear as well as PPE. However, as soon as the firmware upgrade finished, it said something about the current .ccf file could not be used, did I want to save a copy to the HD (which I did). So it is now running some kind of simplified default ccf.
So anyway, while waiting for some kind folks like yourselves to respond to my question, I tried running the update again, was getting some strange behavior (some kind of runtime error and another problem). So I took the PP out of the cradle and plugged the data cable directly into the PP instead, ran the firmware update one more time and it completed successfully without any problems. This time, the first time I selected a source on the PP (i.e. TV), it again prompted me with the familiar "Philips RC codes are installed in this device. Do you want to change it?", so I selected YES and everything seems to be OK now, I can enter BRAND mode and get the "wizard" with list of all manufacturers and so forth.
So thanks once again for your responses, maybe this can help someone else sometime as well.

Jim
