I want to have a few functions that I would really like to toggle with a single button, but only have discrete controls. For example, my Sony ES STR-DA90ESG only has a discrete IR code for mute and un-mute (unless someone knows of another one). So when I press the mute button I'd like it to mute or unmute. I can't think of any way to do that, can you? Also, I'd like to toggle bypass of digital circuitry so that I can use one button on the LCD for this.

Thanks,
Jon

What remote do you have????

If you have pronto 2000 or 6000 Then use the built in data base. Which, from my experince, has only toggle ir codes. Even though it says "on" and "off"

If you still dont have luck. Then download some of the ccfs from the files section. It may not be the exact model number. But they might still work.

Sorry, that would have been a good thing to indicate! It's a TSU-2000. I don't believe that there are anymore CCFs than i have from Gil Diaz because of the receiver I have (a VISIONTOUCH STR-DA90ESG Receiver from Sony, which is incompatible with the Pronto in general, and can be made to work with a special custom cable Gil built me). So, I'm really trying to have a strategy on how to make a set of buttons that allows toggling on the LCD.

Thanks!

You have two identical panels. One has the on function on a button, the other the off function. Simply send the IR and then jump to the other panel when the button is pushed.

I already posted solutions to this issue. You can always call me. My first solution was to use the hard key to "mute on" and to contruct a marco code the turns "off mute + Vol increase" and "off mute + Vol decease". The mute is cancelled whenever a Vol hard key is touched. (you should aready have this code)

My second solution turned out even better. I mute the source not the receiver. If I'm watching a VCR, DVD or LD the mute hard key "pauses" the source - its a toggle. This approach even works on my SAT since it's a PVR (digital video recorder).

Now when the phone rings I hit mute and don't miss any of the action.

Gil, that's great! I really like that volume function you built in the database I have from you. Perhaps have you updated the database? (will go check the files here)

The one thing with the volume that I don't like is that it is only small incriments of increase. I'm guessing that since it is also broadcasting the unmute command that this is why it's slow to increase or decrease.

I am going to get a Satellite system to work with my TiVo, and that would be great. Thanks for all the help.

You cannot ramp any button if it has a macro on it, it must have only the one code, and it must be learned correctly.

When learning, you must continue to hold the OEM button until the Pronto indicates it has learned successfully.

PoohBah888,

As I stated its a macro code not a button with a macro. I actually took two Sony codes and merged them in ProntoEdit. This gave me a single command which sent two messages to the Sony product. I created "mute off + vol up" and "mute off + vol down".

The commands are repeated as long as the single button is pressed.

Here is one on them:

0000 0067 0022 0011 0060 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0400 0060 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 5000 0060 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0400

You can see its pretty long.
