Hi, I've uploaded a few ccfs in my time but I'm new to this forum, so please be gentle with me. But please could somebody help me.
I've had my RC9200 for about 4 months and never used the RF extender. However I decided to give it try today but without success.
I've set matching channel and IDs but nothing is working. What's quite worrying is that the manual says the LED's on the front of the extender should be on all the time. Well, they are.... just! I can hardly see them at all. Its a bit like they're not getting enough power. Should it be like that and am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in adavance.

Jules, I just looked at mine, and I only see 1 red led. If you look at it down from the top, it appears fairly bright. But, if you look at it from the front it looks quite a bit dimmer. Are you trying to control everything with RF? When you try to control your gear using RF, what happens? Some things work, nothing works? Jim L

Thanks Matt, but batteries?
It doesn't take batteries, (i don't think)and its running off the supplied mains transformer anyway.
I've also tried swapping the mains plug with the one in the docking station as it's the same model. But even that didn't work! Any other suggestions. Maybe its something more obvious I've overlooked.

Thanks Jim,
Nothing works at all, and I've tried all 12 devices I've got programmed in to it .

you did set the system properties to RF and every device property to the right thing?

Jules, Anthony's right. If system (not Device) properties is set to IR, it'll only transmit in IR. If system properties is set to RF - it'll transmit either IR or RF. Jim L

Thanks guys,
yep, system properties is also set to RF. Sounds like I'm going to need to return it to the shop then.
Just one other thing though.. I've also downloaded the new touchscreen setup software which comes with the firmware upgrade, and it says my remote is not compatible with this firmware. Could I have an European RF extender and US remote?
If so would this explain why its not working.
I'd be a bit upset if this was the case because I paid more and bought the set from a reputable UK dealer.

Jules, Oferlaor at least strongly implied that his remote was a US version, and he updated successfully. There is at least one other possibility I'd check out before I returned your gear. Forgive me if you know this, but - it's the device where the source code is located that determines method of transmission (RF or IR). Say you have a DVD device set to RF. BUT, all your codes are aliased to another device where the ACTUAL (source) codes are. You will still only transmit IR. Again, it's the device properties setting of the location of the source codes (not the aliases) that are the determining factor. If you want to e-mail me your ccf (my address is in my profile) I'll take a look at it and load up my 9200 to see what I can find out. Jim L

Thanks Jim,
All the commands I've tried are not aliased to other devices. In addition, the remote is not sending IR commands so I'd assume that it is trying to transmit RF signals.. only its not working!
I've sent you an email with my ccf, and I'd be really grateful of your comments.

Well.. yes it was broken.
I returned it to the dealer today and they kindly swapped it for me. Bingo! Everything works perfectly now.
I'm pleased I bought it from them rather than over the internet!
The only trouble is, they were so cool about it I somehow managed to walk into another purchase... remote lighting. Oh well.
