i tried the onkyo zone 2 ccf in the pronto tsu2000 section. the only codes that work for the txsr700 are on/off for zone 2; the source selection for zone 2 do not work, nor are there any volume controls for zone2.

funny enough, i cannot even get the onkyo remote to control zone 2 properly, the only way i can really do it right is by setting the front controls on the reciever.

does anyone have discreet codes or advanced codes for onkyo txsr700 zone2 by chance? at this point, ill take anything i can get...im having no luck finding these codes or learning them from the remote :\

thanx

Hi

While I don't have a 700, I have to assume it works similarly to my 989. The IR input for zone 2 should have its own jack on the rear of the receiver, codes sent from the second zone should be routed there, all of the codes should then perform the proper functions except the volume commands, zone 2 is a fixed level output and requires an amplification source at the zone location (another receiver for exampl)which is adjusted there.

OK as usual I shot off my mouth before doing the investigating. I D/L the manual for your unit and it has a number of differences from mine. Assuming you will be controlling the zone 2 volume and selection from zone 1 and not from the remote location, you should learn the zone 2 command from your Onkyo remote into your Pronto, when sent this should switch the receiver to the zone 2 mode and light an led on the front indicating this. The manual says you have up to 5 seconds to send another code which will be interpreted by the receiver as a zone 2 request, so any buttons on the Pronto that you want to use to control zone 2 functions should send the zone 2 command then a delay (say 200 MS) followed by the command you wish to perform, like input selection or volume. Hope that helps

tom, thanx for the reply

i would have learned the commands from the onkyo remote to the pronto, but, it doesnt work. for some reason, zone 2 functions do not work off my onkyo remote, i can turn it on and off only, but it wont let me select the source input, or adjust volume. i read all over the onkyo manual and nothing in it worked. so far, the only way i can truly work zone 2 is to manual hit keys on the receiver front panel :\ i might try to call onkyo tomorrow and see if they can help as this is the only part of the setup thats incomplete. ive setup zone2 on a denon 3802 with a mx500 remote and it was so easy to program every little option, not the case with this onkyo. i cant even find advanced codes for the onkyo, i would settle for those cuz i have a cinema7 remote too, which i could learn into my pronto. im still hunting...

hey Mind flux,

to turn on or off:
1. press "zone 2" then on or standby

here is how you change the volume on zone 2:
1. press "zone 2"
2. press level arrow up or level arrow down
you will notice that nothing appears on the display of the receiver. But it does do it. You have to get up and go to the receiver and press zone 2 to see that it worked.

to change input:
1. press "zone 2"
2. press and any input under input selector

thanx for the nfo...i can get it to turn on and off, ill have to see if that volume adjust works, as when i did try it before, i didnt see the zone 2 vol change, so i assumed it didnt work. as for changing input for zone 2, the zone 2 light just kept on blinking for a few seconds, and wouldnt change the to proper zone 2 input. only way it worked was when i hit the hard button on the reciever.
