Ok so I am making some progress on getting a TV Guide on the pronto for all that are interested. I am able to get guide data in text format but I am having problems getting the guide data converted to ccf format - right now it's a convoluted process that involves converting to rtf to xml to ccf which doesn't even work. So if anyone has any ideas or knows of any text to ccf convertors please e-mail me Frank Marano [email protected]

I assume you are using either Compile/Decompiler or Tonto to do this? Both do text to CCF.

File->Export Zip
The resulting zip (named *.zcf) will contain an XML manifest and image files.

That option just seems to export the current CCF file - I need something that will take a TEXT file and turn it into a usable CCF or device in a CCF

you can do the reverse by creating the XML manifest, zipping it up and opening it in Tonto.

Don't know how to create a xml manifest, this is sounding too complex for what I want to do I'm hoping to find some command line convertors so I can eventually just write a batch file and automate the whole thing

the xml manifest is a structured text file. you're not going to find any simpler formats that accurately express the structure of a CCF. granted the structure is not documented, but it you look at one, it's fairly straightforward. for example, create a very simple ccf in tonto that looks like what you want to generate, then save it and look at the resulting zcf xml file. have you taken a look at it?

No not yet - I was really hopeing to find a way to do this that would be easily automated - editing xml files then converting them back into ccf files just seem to be to much of a hassle. Basically what I wanted to do is pull the guide data down from Gist using the utility called Whatson then I was looking for a Text to xml convertor or a rtf to xml convertor that will convert the gist guide data to xml for use with ccf tools which has a xml to ccf convertor in it but all the rtf to xml tools that I found produced a product that was incompatible with the ccf tools convertor
