HI, I'm just about thru the hair pulling stage for the pronto TS1000. I have one more problem that I need your help with. I have ultimate tv and on the remote you can bring up PIP but you can't move it because there is no button to do it but on the remote keyboard you can by using the cmd and the M key at the same time. I am trying to get this action learned to a button on the Pronto. It shows OK when I learn it but it doesn't work on the Pronto to move the PIP> Thanks again for all the help, Jim

try learning cmd

if you cannot then
1) press and hold cmd
2) press the button on the pronto (in learn mode)
3) press and hold m like normal

on most keyboards, shift, ctrl, alt don't actually send a command, all they do is change the value of the command that is sent.
...

Try the files section.

I know I saw a file uploaded with the command you're looking for.

I found a file in the file area that is supposed to work but it doesn't. In his discription he has:

Updated for RCA UTV in AUX mode. Now contains the correct discrete power codes. In addition it has codes for other things not on the RCA remote such as PIP move, PIP swap, search and more.

I,m not sure what he means by "AUX mode"?
He has no link to email him. His name is Jorgen Lien.

Thanks for the heads-up, I could only find one file on the RCA 490RE and the code in the file doesn't work on mine...but thanks again.

Aux is the Utv's B code, for a second receiver. You can go into SETTINGS, and change the code of your receiver, then that file would work.

I was rethinking it, if you were trying commands that you find on the remote, then they wouldn't work. But commands that are found only on the keyboard, work in both remote settings.

I tried changing the romote over to the AUX in the home/settings/hooking up/hardware accessories/multiple receivers/ AUX then I held down the AUX button on the remote and entered the code. I found all this info on the AVS forum. I still couldn't get the buttons to work.

What I don't understand is he must have learned it off the keyboard no matter what mode he was in. There are two files in the files section with this PIP move. There is no button on the remote to do this, only on the keyboard and you need to use the cmd and m key together.

After the change, when you press DIRECTV on the oem remote, it shouldn't control it. But if you press AUX, it should. Is this how it is?
