Dale, did you try it on the emulator?

Stewart:

I'm certain that the problem isn't in Tonto. It happens when TSS does the conversion too.

Oh... and no, the problem doesn't happen in the emulator, making this extremely time-consuming to troubleshoot.

Dale,

After I upgrade my PC to Win XP Pro this weekend, I'll start on the device hunt with you.

It might be a hardware limitation or something like that, like the guy who had problems with a keyboard (the keyboard panel was too complicated to draw). I would try getting ride of some of the more complicated things and/or the opening panel

I did try deleting the opening panel, to no avail.

I would be willing to go with the "it's too complex" theorem if it weren't for the fact that every other Pronto-based TSR runs a variation of this CCF just fine. If the TS1000 can handle it, I cannot see a reason that the RC9200 would find it too complex. And it doesn't even come close to filling up the memory of the unit.

that's true (but I am sure your 9200 version is more complex then the TS1000 version)

did you try modifying it to try on a ProntoPro?

The original version was for the ProntoPro, and it runs great. This version is literally just the RC5200 version, converted to RC9200 with no changes. It runs great on the RC5200. I haven't even added any color yet. So I'm stumped.

grasping at straws.

when I first started working on a ProntoPro, I noticed that if I dblclked a B&W CCF to open it in PPE the emulator would show it correctly but the PP would not display the Icons. My assumption was that dblclking bypassed the conversion from 2 bit to 8 bit, and while the emulator could display 2bit icons the Pronto could not. I don't know how Tonto takes care of things like that, but could it be something similar? have you tried your PP version on the 9200?

First, let me say thanks for taking the time to try to help me find an answer. I really appreciate it.

I've tried the conversion every way I can imagine. The only thing I can think of that haven't tried in conversion is to go ahead and edit the four colors during conversion.

I did convert the Pronto 6000 version and load it into the RC9200, and it worked fine.

it's my pleasure, you have helped many people and I am sure there are many who can't wait for your CCF, so I am not just helping you :-)

I am having the same problem with the 9200. It is very frustrating. Half of the time it will download with an error and the other half of the time it gets hung up in a reboot cycle and requires firmware. I will let you know if I can figure it out. Has anyone contacted Marantz? thanks, -g

I was able to get my remote to accept a program and stop the rebooting cycle by reducing the number of home pages in the Home directory from 4 to 3. You have probably already tried this, but it worked for me.

good luck, -g

Nope... my CCF only has one panel in the Home directory.

I may be onto the reason behind this bug, but I haven't had time to test it. I was told that my schedule would relax at the end of October, but alas, corporate America doesn't always keep its promises. I'll test it when I have a free moment.

Thanks,
Dale
