Is there any info out on the new "i-Pronto"?

One of my installers just received a CEDIA Training offer that has a picture of this new touch panel remote.

It looks nice. Color, larger screen, speakers etc.

See the pic below.

Did Philips license the technology for this product or did they develop it themselves?

Well now . . . instead of having 15 Remotes cluttering your coffee table, now you can have one remote covering the entire top of your coffee table!!!

Does it come with a back-brace, if you have to move it?

Looks like it might even be a STEREO Remote!! How about 3D, and will we be needing those funky sunglasses?

Oh, is it surround sound?!?!? I hope so, cause the I wouldn't need to spend the amount of money on a surround system with speakers and all that, my remote could do it all!!

For that matter, will it replace my TV set? I'd love to have the a 42" Plasma screen integrated into the remote...

God, the intermission forum has flooded into the Pronto forum. What's worse is I'm part of the problem, not the solution.

djy,
Sounds like you have a mixed breed of a friend. Part of him from Chinese, and another part of him from UK. I am saying that cus you called him your mate.

FYI, there are touchscreen additions to plasmas.

Now, hook it up to a PC and an IR remote software, and you're all set :)

I just checked the Philips www.pronto.philips.com site. Looks like they have a cool presentation under Pronto++. Check it out.

I tried to open it (says see inside for details) , but can't :-)

but I guess the new Pronto++ is supposed to be multimedia.

I can see the add now

Why get a whole entertainment center when you can just get a remote
