Or does anyone know any discrete codes for switching to the main menu screen or live TV (the Tivo and live TV codes are toogles)?

Yes you can but you need to make sure you are in the right mode when learning it,one press is guide the next is live tv.
You can also try cutting and pasting the hex codes from here.

Kabster, I tried your suggestion, ie learning a first press, and then, learning a separate key for a second press. BOTH keys operated the same; ie, both toggle between live tv and guide. To my eyes, this key is indeed a toggle. If you have a discrete key for each, or know of any TIVO file which does, I would very much appreciate it - if indeed they actually exist..

Thanks,
Harris
