i am(newbe) looking at these two remotes and having a hard time deciding, which one to buy, the tsu 2000 would cost me 120.00 more than the sony ,is this worth the difference in the two remotes,i know the sony just came out and the tsu2000 has been out for a while,I want to get a remote that i will not regret later, I do like the clean look (less buttons and the screen)of the tsu2000. thanks a much for the replys.

The two remotes are in different classes. The LCD on the Sony is mostly fixed (Fixed LCD squares can display one of up to four preset labels, while the four lower LCD Label buttons can each contain an 8-character customized label) The Pronto gives you a blank slate, and you can create as many buttons with as much text as can fit on screen (and you can place them where you want).

I would say the tsu 2000, i have a sony 2100 and never did like it, it just holds the shelf down now. I couldnt remember what buttons did what with it either. If i didnt like the way it did something, it was a painful process to get it to work more to my likings(sp). I own a tsu 2000, and love it. My wife has no trouble at all using it to control everything. The best part is, if you dont like the way something looks or works, fire up prontoedit and 2 minutes later it is working how you would like. I paid about 225 for mine without the docking station. The sony 3000 may be alittle different but still limited to 4 names per button. I didnt like that and never could fully replace all my remotes with it. With the pronto, add what u need and want. the best part is, if u want it to do something else, make a button, Call it what u want and program it to do it. You will know what every button does cause u can label them whatever you want. In my opinion it is much better than having 30 buttons that all look the same, and u cant remember what the heck they do.
Best choice i made was to pitch my sony and go with the pronto 2000.
Hope this helps, Joel

YES! Pronto is the remote! I was able to get it on Ebay for $190US and $12 shipping. I was very happy with that price. I went thru the same dilemmia at first, but then once I read both reviews on here, I was sold on the Pronto. In fact, when I came to this website I only knew about the Sony RM-AV3000 and was sold on it. The reviews changed my mind. Also seeing the Star Trek designs and the various "tabbed-Windows" layouts for the Pronto impressed me.
And now that its arrived and I have gotten over the learning curve, I am delighted with my purchase.
