Daniel:

I just completed a version of EasyTheater for Pronto 2000. The additional memory there allowed me to restore some of the functionality that was lost due to the memory limitations of the Pronto 1000. I'd like to post this version as well.

However, the quick and obvious logical progression here is that soon, I'm going to have different versions of EasyTheater for Pronto 1000, Pronto 2000, Pronto 6000, Marantz 5000, Marantz 5000i, Marantz 5200, and Marantz 9200. In each of these cases, there are distinct features of the remotes that a unique version can take advantage of.

I'd like to make all of these available for folks. My first thought is to make two separate files: the grayscale and the color. But then, there is the "large screen" issue.

How would you prefer that I group these for upload, if at all? I want to make the files easy to access, but on the other hand, I also don't want people to have to browse through seven copies of very similar CCFs, all from the same person. (In fact, I'm thinking that maybe my existing "amazing" version A and version B color CCFs might be better off packed into a single file.)

I welcome other opinions, but mostly I'm interested in yours. What would you prefer? After all, you're the boss here.

Thanks,
Dale

PS: I've been kinda pig-headed about not e-mailing the Pronto 1000 version of EasyTheater to folks, hoping that those downloads are helpful to Remote Central's stats. Am I being silly in this regard? I figure that if I'm lending a small helping hand, we both win in the end. Am I off the mark on this one?

Dale, firstly you're doing a wonderful job for us all. I look forward to trying the TS2000 ver of Easy Theatre when it's uploaded. I'd personally rather each version was posted seperately. As long as each was labelled as being for a particular Pronto model then I can't see the problem. I also think you're doing the right thing generating revenue for the site as without RCC we'd all be up the creek! Philips certainly wouldn't provide the support we get from here.
Cheers

I agree - I think it would be helpful to have the files packaged separately - I know that I struggled looking for the 1000 version of EasyTheater in the B&W section until I realised that it was in with the color version!

One other small favour to ask (damn, I was doing so well with the US spelling of "Theater" and then I let "favour" creep in!) please could you also list the European model numbers in the descriptions - I know that the FAQ tells us which are equivalent but its easy for us newbies to get confused!

Thanks for all the work you've done to make our lives just that little bit easier,

Chris

I agree. Separate uploads would work for me. Daniel has done a good job with the indexing and searching. I can find what I want from many different directions.

I'd do three uploads:

Color Small Screen
B&W Small Screen
Color & B&W Large Screen

Excellent. Thanks Daniel. I'll follow that protocol on my next upload.
