Anyone know of a discrete code for the disc drawer for the Sony DAV-S300 (european model/Britain) I would imagine similar model codes would work as well?

Currently the only way to open the disc drawer is to press the button on the device itself there isn't a button on the remote.

full of q's today I am
thanks if you can help

I'm going to assume you know where in ProntoEdit to place these codes, if not write me and I'll help you with it. I have a Sony DAV-S500 Home Theater with remote RM-SS800. I don't have individual discrete codes to open and close the drawer, but I do have the Learned IR code my remote has. If my code works on your Sony DAV-S300, it will at least toggle the drawer open or close automatically. At first I saw no benefit, because you'd have to put a DVD in the drawer any way. But it could be used to make sure your in DVD mode.

Learned from my Sony DAV-S500 (RM-SS800) Remote:

0000 0067 0000 0015 0061 0018 0019 0017 0031 0017 0031 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0019 0017 0019 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0031 0017 0031 0017 0019 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0019 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0019 0210

Learned from another Remote Central member.. Sony DAV-C700 (RM-SS900):
0000 0067 0016 0015 002f 004a 0011 001e 0023 0004 0001 163f 0031 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0019 0017 0019 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0031 0017 0031 0017 0019 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0019 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0019 020f 0061 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0031 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0019 0017 0019 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0031 0017 0031 0017 0019 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0019 0017 0019 0017 0031 0017 0019 0210

I got the above learned code from another Remote Central member. You can download the .cff file at:

I tried it on my Pronto TSU-2000. While it did work, it took my Sony DAV-S500 way too long to react. My code works lots faster. I'm not sure why. Could be that these IR codes came from a DAV-C700 unit or maybe the IR codes are what they call "dirty". I don't yet know how to spot dirty codes, much less how to clean them up. I've tried to learn the utilities on this website, but nobody writes instructions.

This is the toggle code for open/close which works on my UK Sony DAV-S300.

0000 0067 0000 0015 0060 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 03f6

Cheers for that guys I'll try cutting and pasting the codes tonight sometime...the reason I wanted the codes is for two reason. That in the unlikely event the button on the front of my player goes (a friend of mine has the same machine so it could happen like his one) and secondly maybe to set up a kind of macro or on screen set-up guide on the pronto.

David.

You mentioned that you wanted to include the open/close button in a macro for the DVD set-up.

I started by using this open/close button within a macro so that you just pressed one button on the Pronto and everything turned on and the player opened up ready for a DVD to be placed on the tray. However I soon found that if I had started watching a DVD, then stopped it half way through, then came back to watch it, pressing the macro button on the Pronto would open the tray and lose your point in the movie that you were up to. Very annoying!

I recommend you only use this button to open the tray once you have finished watching the film. Bit useless really because you have to get up to take the DVD off the tray anyway!

Hope this helps in some way.

Marc
