I just bought the Yamaha RX-Z1 and I uploaded the RAV to my prontoedit. I deleted all but the receiver(which is all I wanted) and downloaded it to my pronto. I can push one button under the "receiver" screen and then it doesn't work. You can push another button but the command isn't sent and there is no "beep" sound. As soon as the scrren goes off it works ok again until I try the receiver screen again. I thought the 2 remotes were compatable but I notice under the string that the RAV is different from the Pronto. Any help would be appreciated. David

Never used the Yamaha software before but I have come across problems like yours when swapping ccf's between ProntoEdit and Marants TSS. Under FILE where you would normaly save the ccf there may be an 'Export as'
If there is then in your Yamaha software try exporting the entire ccf as a Pronto file. The open the ccf in ProntoEdit and modify the things you want to here. Testing the ccf in the emulator does not always show up any problems so you will need to check it fully on your remote.
Hope this helps.
Craig.

No.....Unfortunately there is no "export as" with the Yamaha software. it's more like the old pronto software. The only thing I can think of doing is uploading it as a pronto ts1000 and exporting it as a tsu2000 ccf. One thing I haven't tried is uploading the RAV with the Ravedit and then opening the pronto software and "open" the RAV ccf and maybe it will ask if I want to change it to a 2000ccf. I'll try that first. Thank you for asking. Because the RAV is new and made by pronto, their software is not as advanced as the pronto's yet. David

The RAV "knows" about Yamaha codes and how to generate them.
If you look at the IR for your receiver's codes you might find that they start with 9001. If so, only the RAV knows what to do with these codes and that is why they don't work in a Pronto.
Even UDB codes (which start with 8000) may not necessarily work in other models.
