Is it possible to send X10 commands via RF from the TSU-6000 to a TM13 (Australian) RF to X10 power line Transceiver Module?

Australian X10 RF frequency is 433.92 MHz as per Europe, rather than the USA 310 MHz. Is there a setting for the TSU 6000 RF Channel 0-3 and Unit number that will correspond with X10 433.92 MHz?

I have tried RF CH codes 0,1,2 and 3 with ID of 0 only. It is so time consuming to download my 1.7Mb config then run downstairs at test one combination at a time... (0-F == 16 by 4 Channels gives 128 combinations)

I have read that the "Powermid XL" IR-RF to RF-IR extenders can work with the Pronto TSU 6000 requiring only the single RF-IR "Powermid XL" component. If so, what was the RF Channel and unit number used for this.

Note, I have an Infrared Mini Controler IR7243 for Pronto IR X10 control in the Lounge Room but I want to control lights for the driveway etc via the Pronto TSU 6000 RF feature when I carry it downstairs to answer the door (in a hurry as you do...).

As I have an IR7243, a single "Powermid XL" RF-IR convertor would be an option if only the Pronto could talk 433 MHz! Catch 22 - Australian Powermids are also 433 MHz!

Australian X10 supplier site is http://www.eon3.com.au

Oh well,
it looks like the only solution is to buy a RFX6000 and fire it at my X10 IR7243. At US$120 plus the usual US$50 postage to Australia and the AU$ only worth $0.55 currently thats AU$309.09 for the RF-IR convertor! A Powermid XL is only AU$69.00!

What's more the point, no one wants to ship down under anymore. Amazon zShops won't ship outside of USA so I'm snookered anyway.

It was worth a shot..

My understanding is that the ProntoPro sold in Europe uses 433.92MHz for RF while the ProntoPro sold in the USA uses 418MHz.

Depending on how the Pronto identifies the receiver, it should be possible to send RF to X-10 receivers of the right frequency. Does your TM13 use 433.92MHz? Is your ProntoPro a European model?

X-10 RF codes have a lengthy preamble (8.8ms), followed by a long silence (4.4ms), followed by the 32-bit code, followed by a 40ms silence. See...

[Link: laser.com]

If the bits that identify the channel precede the X-10 preamble, the TM13 might still be able to decode what follows. If the channel ID follows the code, the TM13 may or may not be able to handle it depending on whether it looks for the 40ms silence or merely for the last pulse in the code.

You cannot control any RF devices using the RF Extender.

Thanks Dave and Peter.

I have a USA ProntoPro on 418MHz.

If I can't get the X10 TM13 (433MHz) to read ProntoPro RF commands, I need the RF extender to fire ProntoPro RF commands as IR to my X10 IR7243 controller (IR to X10 Power Line).

My question would now be, does the Transmitter half of the USA Powermid XLs, the RF to IR sender piece behave like a poor mans Pronto RF extender? I mean, does it work without setting any of the CH and UNIT settings to anything particular?

If so, it may be an avenue worth pursuing...
