My Pronto arrived yesterday. I fired up ProntoEodit 4.0 (previously downloaded from this site), hooked up the Pronto to the PC and downloaded a previously created CCF file(based on CCF files downloaded this site). The download process worked flawlessly, though there were some bugs I had to iron out in my CCF. Some codes just did not work (e.g. the channel down for my VCR). I am not sure why that would be. The CCF I downloaded for my receiver actually assigned learned codes to the hard buttons for volume control. I had cleared these because I wanted system wide volume control. I solved these problems by re-learning the codes from my own remote using ProntoEdit.

One issue that remains is I couldn't find a descrete code to switching to my S-Video input on my Sony TV (32TS20). The Video discrete worked though, so I kludged it with a switch to video followed by an input toggle. I would prefer a direct code. Does anyone have any ideas where I could find it.

My other issue is the backlight. How do I get it to always come on when I touch the screen? Also, should the backlight be making a humming noise when it is on.

Just looked at the FAQ, I see the buzzing noise is normal.

Interesting. I haven't come across any AV equipment where the S-VHS input is seperate from the composite video input. There are four discrete video input IR codes for the Sony TV in the Files section. Did you try all of them? You may also want to look at the Sony IR code list in the Files/User Documentation section.

On my Sony TV there are two inputs on the rear panel with buttons on the front. One is for composite the other is for s-video. It is an old TV (almost 10 years old). I will check out the discrete page. Thanks.
