I have both PE v2 and v4 installed on my pc. I am able to do everything, including upload from Pronto in pe v4. But I am unable to download. Unless I save it, open it in pe v2 then download it to Pronto. I have win 98 and "developer version" for pe v2. Also is it possible to have V4 to be "developer version" thanks King of typos

1a/ If you have made changes to your CCF, save prior to download. There is a timing issue if it first has to create a temporary CCF to download.
1b/ Activate your Pronto just prior to doing the download. Again, this reduces timing issues.
2/ Use ProntoIni workshop.

I've been seening this ProntoIni workshop on here. What is it and do I have it already. Or do I have to download it from somewhere. Thanks for you help I'll try to activate it first. I always save my ccf before I download, just in case. King of typos

Peter, I've never run into a timing issue relating to saving. Just before it attempts to send the data, I activate the Pronto and keep it activated until it successfully makes a connection. Also, I've seen some people post that you have to be on the home screen. Actually, it doesn't matter what screen you're on, jus so long as the thing is awake.

Well I activated the Pronto last night just before I downloaded it from pe V4 and it worked. I just never thought about this cus I never had to do it with the ts-1000. "Some times the older model is better than the newer one" But not all the time. I'll try the search and see what else that file can do for me. thanks though, now I don't have to use pe v2, excecpt for the "developer version" thanks King of typos

Well I downloaded the ProntoIni from the search above. But it made it worse. I couldn't download in either pe V2 or V4. Execpt for maybe once each. So I uninstalled the ProntoIni. Anyone knows what happened? King of typos

I think you have other issues if your still having problems, How about changing the baud rate to 9600 for comm. port that pronto hooks to ?
Pronto Edit V4 has developer enabled allready.

How do I change the baud rate to 9600? And also if PE V4 already has developer, then how come I can't make my ccf "factory default" and change the hex codes and other stuff? I was able to do that stuff when I had the ProntoIni installed though. But since I am having issuses, I had to take it out. King of typos

There is no point in changing the baud rate. ProntoEdit sets all the settings it needs i.e. any current setting, including baud rate, is ignored.
Developer mode is not enabled by default in V4. However, it doesn't do much for you. You do not need it for pasting hex codes. However, you do need it to enable setting of RC5/6 codes.

is it possible to have V4 to be "developer version" Use your RegEdit and go to HK_Current_User\software\philips\... (hope memory serves me right!) somewhere there's the Pronto folder and an entry called 'developer mode'. Set it to '1' and restart your PEv4. Chris

It's better to use ProntoIni Workshop to do this. Changing the registry can be dangerous if you don;t know what you are doing.

Well I can safely tell you this, I will not use ProntoIni Workshop again. For what I went threw on two different times. First it made it worse in downloading to my Pronto. Then it totally shut down my pronto. Blank screen, no hard buttons and each time I would put the battery in or push the reset button. It would beep four long beeps. But I am glad that I was able to get it working again with Mike's help. King of typos
