I am trying to update the firmware on a TS1000 and it keeps telling me that the firmware I am trying to install is older that what is already on the remote.

When I go to the setup screen on the remote and bring up the firmware version, it is clearly older that what is on my computer.

Has anyone come across this?

Thanks

Which version of ProntoEdit are your using when trying to update?

What is the version displayed in your Pronto?

I figured it out. I just used the older version of protoedit and was able to update it. Thanks

Hmm, I'd still be interested to know what was on your remote and what version you were updating in.

The remote had Sys V3.61 and App V4.84 and I was using ProntoEdit 4.0. It would not upgrade. When I used prontoedit 1.5 it easily upgraded to 3.62 and 4.85

Using Prontoedit 4.0, I've just tried to update furmware from the 3.6/4.81 on my TS1000 to 3.62/4.85. It fails after asking me to reset the pronto, claiming it fails to access the boot, or something like that.

I know this is a common problem. I found this thread doing a seach, but still have not found an answer. Thanks to anyone who knows how to get ProntoEdit 4.0 tools/update firmware working with an original TS1000.

Some people find that they need to use 1.05 to do the update.

I read the same advice in almost every other post the search for "firmware update" revealed. I lost all my old CCFs and Ponto edit versions when the computer I had them on had it's hard drive fail and replaced. I spent the long time via my dialup connection to download the "latest" version, thinking surely it must be more reliable and contain features the older version didn't.

So I "could" spend another hour downloading 1.05. But I'd rather find out if there is a fix or a trick to getting version 4 to update firmware. BTW, was there ever a version 2 or 3?
