i just purchased the 2000. I can not figure out how to use the stupid thing. I tried to program it by using the search method on the remote. but the buttons do not work properly. i tried to figure out the pronto edit 4. but no luck. someone told me all i had to do was go to the pront site type in what equipment i had, download it, and im done. but i found out that is not the case. the guy i bought it from had his programmed and it had the brand, model and fancy looking buttons. i want mine the same way. but i have little computer knowledge and too stupid to figure the thing out. please can someone help me figure this thing out. maybe i need someone to walk me through it. as you can see i cant do it on my own.
any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Everyone that is new to the Pronto/Marantz remotes is overwhelmed at first. That's why this site exists.

Read the FAQ, ask specific questions here, and use the online manual that comes with Prontoedit V4.

And download a copy of the hardware manual so that you know how to learn IR codes. Everything else you do in ProntoEdit.

I started off by learning how to program it with just a couple of buttons rather than anything complicated. Once I understood that, I dumped those and started on more complicated pursuits.

Click on the links in the box below, in particular you will find : the FAQ, Reviews, Play With It, Phases, Planning and ALIAS.CCF helpful when just starting out.

And remember when you ask questions to be specific in your Heading and very specific in your question, including precisely what your problem/question is and what model Remote you have and what OS you are using on your PC.

Also, don't forget the Search Forum at the bottom of the Page. It may seem slow but it is VERY thourough and don't be mislead by the "0%" you will see on the first screen, it is only a progress marker.

CLICK ON THESE LINKS
