Anyone have a discrete power off/power on input for the Hughes Satellite receivers? This would be a great benefit. When switching from cable to satellite, the Hughes receiver must be off, and vice versa when watching satellite.

Thanks in advance

No there are no discrete power commands for Hughes receivers.

Why are you running the cable though the satellite receiver? Is there a specific reason?

The input button the hughes remote will switch between sat & ant/cable. If you want to spend a few bucks get the hughes hd receiver. It will mix sat and cable/ant onto your program guide. No reason to switch inputs.

gjd...Thanks for the input. I'll check into it. Are you saying that the program guide will become "one"? Can this still be done if cable channels are running through the VCR tuner? (I don't want to change all my cable channel aliases).

John, this is the way a customer of mine already had setup. Cable is not running through the Satellite receiver, but for some reason, the way it's hooked up, everytime you want to view cable, and the sat receiver is left on, the picture is fuzzy, so having a discrete power button would do the trick. I'm sure there's a way around this but haven't looked into it yet.

Sounds like the cable is running through the sat receiver.
