I know this is a long shot but the other night when I was checking a ccf I had made for my dad on the emulator I got to wondering if it would be possible for someone that knew what they were doing to actually use the emulator and a laptop as a remote using a laptops IR port as the output. Somehow there would have to be software to allow the emulator commands to be output as IR commands throught the laptop.

Like I said I know it is a long shot but I wanted someone to let me know if this could ever be possible.

Isn't the IR port on a laptop for input only? Also, the distance range of a laptop's IR port is often very low - like a metre or two.
