On a scale from 1 to 10 I'm a high 3 ( became very evident after spending time in the Forums ) at best. I've programmed 6 or 7 pronto tsu2000's so I have a basic understanding of programming. I've yet to figure out the best way to obtain codes for certain devices. Mostly I've been learning codes from (i.e.)an onkyo device onto buttons that originally had sony codes. It's been working O.K but time consuming. The problem seems to be the discretes for inputs and power that are not always available from the factory remote. I've just been using ALL ON , ALL OFF to keep it simple, and have been pretty lucky with the inputs, but would like to be more efficient and leave as few unused devices on at a time. Are there other sites to locate codes? Or is this just the way it is?
Thanks alot.

You could try Prontoedit.com (but not as big as here), or the manufacturer (helps to know if there are discrete codes to begin with)

The best way I have found is to sell the cusser ALL DISCRETE EQUIPMENT , "ok that's in a perfect world"
Learning the codes is the most reliable method , also there are certain peices of equipment that does not need to be turned on, make a few more macros , listen to cd , or watch dvd or whatever , put yoour power codes on a power panel that way if they need to turn things on they go there.

I don't undestand the advantage of the macros.
Thank you, remember I'm new.

A macro is simply a button with more than one action.

Most sites have somewhere where they provide contact information. Send em an email.

However, most manufacturers won't have a clue what you are talking about, or will refuse to answer.
