Much improved!
1) Volume control doesn't go all the way up
2) Why not use windows style icons for the items instead of the playstation, dvd, replay, etc icons?
Pretty nice!

And I always thought I was a cranky, cynical SOB... After reading some of the nasty-grams on this 2-part thread I feel like Mr Rogers!
IMHO: To be fair, the original "Best CCF EVER" thread had a provocative title, didn't start pretty, & Neil was semi-annoying at first. BUT, he listened to all the replies, really settled in, & the whole thing became very constructive. I've got a lot more respect for Neil than (fill in Beever's name here) who started ugly and seem determined to out-ugly all comers. Or for that matter some of the people who've missed the change of direction of these threads and keep dragging it back to the muck.
Lighten UP! They're just remote controls!

i did not put the volume control all the way to the top because of the fact that it is not the highest volume level.. What do you guys think abour that? Should it go all of the way up? i did not bring the volume all of the way down on the low vol either. as far as windows icons are concerned ... i do not know... i thought about it buti do not really know why i kept the ones i did. i will play with it and see which ones i like better. Thanks for the suggestions and let me know what you think about bringing the vol control slider all of the way to the top.

Neil,
I'm confused by your attitude on this - this is for you, right? Or is this for your programming/custom install business? Or are you planning to sell the CCF? I ask because for most/all of us, the only person's opinion that matters is our own! (Or maybe the wife!)

As a beginner, I agree with Anthony. My days of programming Prontos are just beginning and I appreciate any helpful information regardless of the designers intent, which in ny opinion, is all good! I've noticed the 6000 is all the rave. I'm still exploring the 2000. Can some bitmaps be shared between the two remotes and is the programming of these two prontos the same? With the exception of color and RF. Thanks Neil for the ccf. It is helpful to me and I think it looks great. you da man!

thanks a lot. I apprecieat your comment. The programing is the same except for the color screen and the rf control and the MEMORY. That is why this ccf even downloads into the 6000. You will need to convert these bitmaps into the 4 color scheme that the 2000 uses. good luck with that one... if you have the time then try it out. it WILL be alot of work... trust me... again so was this ccf ( as with all ccfs) and here it is.

Neil, cmack, you can load a color CCF in PE4 and use it with a b&w Pronto, you simply have to select the model you use. PE4 converts the colors into the greyscale palette. André

Neil Natic I think Blue do is asking if this is for you then you should make it the way you like and not worry about the way someone else likes it as you are the one that has to live with it. I don't think he meant you had a bad attitude. I personally think it is good to get ideas from others as there are always ways to make something better that you didn't think of. BTW much better thread and a much better way to go about it. :)

It seems to me that Neil is attempting to do what Daniel and few others have done: make a CCF that is appealing to many people, so they will download it and use it as the basis of their own CCFs.
I know that I get a little smile every time I see that someone has used part or all of my CCF when designing their own CCF. My guess is that Neil just wants a little bit of that fun. There's also the satisfaction of knowing that you've created something that's really useful to others. All of the Pronto utilities that people have written and uploaded are examples of this, I think.
And don't forget the desire to simply do a great job. Few people upload their CCFs if they think they did a lousy job on it. Neil's just trying to do the best he can do.
The truth is, I'm curious to see Neil's CCF. But, I'm so close to completing my own "4th Generation" CCF that I don't want anyone else's work to "color" my design. Whether people use or don't use the new CCF, I want to know that everything I present is entirely "me." Once I've uploaded the new CCF, I'm definitely going to take a look at Neil's file.
